If the laptop is otherwise ok, a USB WiFi adapter is an option. There are also some pretty good mini-pc option as well. Even for gaming. Many of them are cheaper than an equivalent laptop since they don't include a screen.

It sucks not being able to enjoy all the things you collected. Not sure about a solution atm but you'll push through with that resourcefulness. Also I know you didn't want a pre-built but they're generally getting better these days.

you definitely to do a gofundme for a new laptop. It might take a little bit but soon enough you'll have a new laptop. Not having a laptop is a bit more than a first world problem. In this world everyone should have access to the technology need to function properly. Ebay you might be able to find a refurbished laptop. If someone offers you any help, I'd take it. You've faced bigger issues and have somehow made through the other side, so don't panic.

Sorry about the Laptop failing. Reminds me of my Kindle which fought the good fight after ten years or so of service. Being without a favorite hobby can definitely give off a sense of being crowded. Take it easy and as my friend who served in the Marines once told me and our relapse prevention group, "Just go with the flow". There are probably groups out there who donate electronics to seniors etc. You might want to look into that. There is also Craigs List but that could be costly. I used to burn in the sun but my skin adapted and now i naturally tan a leathery brown but it fades pretty fast if i spend a few days indoor. Heatwave over here currently in New York but it is not feeling as humid like it did last week. Last two nights have been good with 70 degree weather but come the day it was 96. Hello William! Good to hear your blood pressure is getting better. I have been wrestling with my blood pressure as well but fortunately the highest it has ever been is 169/90 but i can totally relate when it comes to being obsessive about blood pressure readings. Now like you i just check it twice a day and go about my day. Once i see it is in the normal to ideal range i stop checking for a few days just making sure to eat properly and getting out for walks. Seems both our fathers outlasted our beloved mothers. Mine lasted til the age of 77 with diabetic issues on and off during his life and depression in his later years. He quit drinking but the depression of missing our mom must have gotten to him after 15 years or so of her passing so i was seeing signs like a almost full small whiskey bottle sitting on the living room glass table. With him he never was drunk, belligerent or violent when it came to drinking. Somehow he could handle it. Where it did effect him was in the depression department. Eventually he caught a fever and ended up passing away from organ failure in a good hospital just before he was going to be sent to hospice care as he was already in a vegetative state and did not have long to live. Hopefully i will live as long or a bit more since i never drank or did drugs. My weaknesses is good old salty foods. Fun and richly detailed rpg settings and the rat tale was also interesting with a perspective on enjoying ones lot in life. Have a good one friend ☕

It probably isn't this, but be sure to check your mattress and other tight spaces for bedbugs. I've had to deal with those suckers three times so any welt that appears on my knee, neck, arm, and waist immediately set me off haha. Other than that hope you're doing well and staying cool in this crazy heat.
